..A newly proposed law in the United States is threatening call center jobs in the Philippines and other countries by withdrawing incentives from American firms that outsource their operations.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has began implementing
the guidelines issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs on obtaining legal documents
for employment in Russia.
Citing the rise in the number of "virtual offices" or remote work environment because of the Internet, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said it is open to a proposed measure compressing the work week to four 10-hour days.
